Called a "national class mandolin and fiddle player" by the Portland Oregonian, Pete Martin is a musician living in Seattle. Playing fiddle, mandolin, guitar and tenor guitar, he has performed and recorded with many Northwest artists. He currently plays mandolin with Cedar Grove, fiddle with Rural Delivery and both with other Seattle area ensembles.

Pete has placed well in many national and regional instrumental competitions. In 1983, he placed in the top 5 at the National Mandolin Contest, Winfield, Kansas. In 1994, he was National Adult Fiddle Champion, at Weiser, Idaho. In addition, he has judged the National Fiddle Contest three times.

Pete is a regular columnist for Mandolin Magazine and has authored 7 instructional books on mandolin and fiddle playing.
