Webcam Lessons

Pete Martin offers webcam lessons for those who can’t attend in-person lessons. This means anyone anywhere with a computer, a webcam and a high speed internet connection can get fiddle and mandolin instruction.

What You Need To Setup Webcam Lessons

All you need is:

  1. A high speed internet connection
  2. A web cam
  3. A free video/audio software program called Skype
  4. A Pay Pal account.

About Software

I use Skype as my software. It is free to use for lessons or any kind of video conferencing. You can download it here: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows/

The Skype homepage is here: http://www.skype.com

You will need to setup a user name and email me what it is. Mine is “petimar2”.

About Webcams

This page describes how to set up a webcam: http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/HowTo.htm

Webcam reviews are here: http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/index.htm#revews

More than you’ll ever need to know about webcams, instruction on their use and lighting, etc are here:

My Webcam

I use a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000. See it here:

About Paypal

Paypal is a way to send money to someone via the web. You can find out about it here:

http://www.paypal.com/

I use Paypal as my way of accepting payments for webcam lessons and books. I have used it to pay for merchandise (including some high end musical instruments!) and to pay for and accept money from Ebay auctions. I have never had any problems with it.

Next Steps

When you get all of this set up, email me at

pete@petimarpress.com

Then, we will arrange a time where we can try it out to make sure it works OK (no charge for this). After that we can schedule a lesson.
